The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck by Mark Manson

Get ready to be hit by blunt truth again and again on your face while reading this piece of writing. This book is an exceptional read in the genre of self-help books. Unlike other books that write in a certain way to motivate and inspire you, this book will crush your ego into pieces and tell you the truth about yourself. It’ll tell you how you are not special at all and knowing that will make you special. We read so many quotes and other stuff on “How to not give a fuck” or “Why we should not a give a fuck” but this ultimate guide here will tell you the right way of doing so.
The index of the book is completely different from what you expect from a self-help book. Not inspiring at all. It has topics like ‘Don’t Try’ and ‘Happiness is bad’ but you’ll know why it is so when you read the book.
Two amazing things about the book are –
1. The examples. Simple, relatable and short. Exactly what a non-fiction should have.
2. It explains the problem we have in us. And along with that it also gives us the solution to it. Not just the problem.
As it has completed every topic it has started, I think that the topic of belief has been started but not completed in the book. One negative thing is this. It does not glorify the power of belief and that was not acceptable, atleast for me.
The language is blunt. Funny. You will have a few giggles here and there. It is so realistic, you feel like you are actually talking to Mark while reading the book.
I do not ideally support the idea of not giving a fuck. I think it makes our generation, specially our generation a little too insensitive. So I was curious to know what this book has to give. I must say I was so satisfied with the content of this book because it does not teach you insensitivity or how to not give a fuck. It tells you how to give your fucks in the right, productive way.
I highly recommend this book to all of you. Especially if you think you are special. (Giggles). Any other self-help you would like to suggest?
